Eirich Group Opens State-of-the-Art Innovation Center in Japan

Hardheim, May 2026: The Eirich Group continues to expand its worldwide technology and development network: In July 2026, Nippon Eirich will open the new Eirich Innovation Center Japan (EICJ) in Nagoya. The existing test center in Narita and the Nippon Eirich headquarters will be consolidated under one roof there. The new research and development facility marks a strategic milestone for the company’s presence in the Asian region and underscores the Eirich Group’s international positioning.

Focus on a unique customer experience

The EICJ comprises a three-story main building with approximately 1,800 square meters of floor space and brings together four specialized laboratory areas under one roof. The General Lab conducts tests on battery materials, chemical raw materials, and construction and foundry materials. The CleanLine Lab is aligned with applications in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries and operates under the strictest hygiene standards. The concept of the Trial Lab is particularly innovative: here, companies, universities, and research institutions can rent EIRICH technology for their own tests—with or without technical support from EIRICH specialists. Tests are possible with as little as about 30 milliliters of sample material, making the service attractive even for particularly rare or expensive raw materials. The Analysis Lab offers state-of-the-art measuring technology for comprehensive material analysis, including scanning electron microscopy.

The EICJ exemplifies a philosophy that sets Eirich apart from many other machine builders: the interplay of innovative mixing technology, deep process know-how, and a commitment to proximity to customers. In the global Eirich Innovation Centers, processes are developed in collaboration with customers—from the initial feasibility study through scale-up tests until production readiness.

Plenty of space for new ideas

In addition to its function as a technology center, the EICJ will also serve as the new headquarters of Nippon Eirich. Employees can expect a state-of-the-art work environment modeled after the standards of leading technology companies. Open collaboration spaces, versatile work areas, and inviting communal spaces foster lively exchange between teams. Dedicated rooms for internal training and instruction support the continuous advancement of the workforce. The building concept emphasizes short distances between the lab, offices, and meeting areas—thus creating the conditions for a work environment where innovation, knowledge transfer, and collegial collaboration go hand in hand.

Success story continues

“With the EICJ, we are creating a platform that goes far beyond showrooms or conventional test environments,” explains Masamoto Naito, managing director of Nippon Eirich. “Here, testing becomes real research and development—together with our customers.” The investment in Japan builds on a success story spanning more than fifty years: Nippon Eirich celebrated its 50th anniversary as early as 2024—proof of its strong anchoring in the Japanese market. “Asia remains a key market for the future,” emphasizes Stephan Eirich, managing director of the Eirich Group. “With our in-house development centers on site, we can react more quickly and precisely to regional demands—‘Local for local’ has always been our motto.”

The project has reached several milestones in recent months: The groundbreaking ceremony and laying of the cornerstone took place in June 2025, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated in November 2025, and in December 2025, Nippon Eirich announced the official naming. The grand opening of the EICJ is scheduled for July 2026.
